LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University Fortnite program concluded its inaugural regular season this week in the ECAC, with the final match serving as the last opportunity for teams to earn points toward playoff qualification. Two duos led the way for the Golden Eagles, showcasing a program best performance and steady consistency as the season came to a close.
The duo of
Davieon Bowyer and
Matthew Judkins delivered the best showing from a duo for the regular season. The pair demonstrated strong coordination and decision-making throughout the session, consistently finding success in mid- and late-game situations. This wasn't just a season high for the duo but also showed their potential heading into post season play. In their three games they placed; 17th, 3rd, and 5th with 20 total eliminations between the two.
Meanwhile,
Andrew Bland and
Evan Orr continued to display the steady form that has defined their season. Known for their reliable placements and measured playstyle, the pair once again put together a solid performance that kept them competitive throughout the night. Their consistency across multiple weeks provided a stable foundation for the program during its first year of competition. In Week Seven the duo placed 12th, 9th and 6th with three total eliminations.
As the regular season concludes, the entire Spalding Fortnite roster can take pride in a strong first year. Over the course of the semester, every duo showed visible improvement in communication, positioning, and in-game strategy. From early growing pains to late-season confidence, the team's development reflects the dedication and adaptability of a group still finding its identity on the collegiate stage.
Spalding now turns its focus toward postseason play. Duos Yellow and Blue have clinched a spot in at least the semi finals, we will have to wait for official standings to see if they auto qualify for finals. The top 35 teams out of 169 will automatically qualify for Finals that take place on December 2nd. The 36th-75th ranked teams will battle it out next week to fill the last 15 slots of the Finals lobby. Standings should be posted on Sunday so stay tuned to know the next time Golden Eagles Fortnite will be in action!
