LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Spalding Cross Country teams competed at the Louisville Classic this weekend. No team scores were recorded for Spalding, but many runners for the Golden Eagles improved on last weeks' times.
On the women's side Reganne Piercy led the way with a time of 26:59.9 placing 357th improving by almost a full minute over last week.
Bessie Kelley followed closely, clocking a time of 27:04.3 placing 361st and improving by 15 seconds in the Blue 6000 meter race with 416 runners.
In the men's Silver 8000 meter race,
Tobias Rice finished 46th overall with a time of 27:37.8, an improvement of over a minute.
Wyatt Frye placed 107th recording a time of 28:58.8. The men's Silver 8000 meter had 237 runners.
Both Cross Country teams are hitting their stride as they prepare for the remainder of the season.
The Golden Eagles next meet is Friday, October 17th. SU will compete in the Jenna Strong Fall Classic.
