LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Spalding University's
Kornell Hilliard was named the SLIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. This marks the third week in a row that a Spalding player has earned the accolade, joining fellow Golden Eagles,
Mani Bakari and
Abnel St. Fleur.
Hilliard, a junior from Louisville, Ky., was a major offensive threat for the Golden Eagles during their 2-0-0 week. Hilliard notched two goals in a 6-0 victory over Berea College on Tuesday, followed by a hat trick in a 4-1 win at Earlham College on Saturday. Hilliard's five goals on the week increase his season total to a conference-leading nine goals, and 21 points.
Hilliard and the Golden Eagles will return to the pitch tomorrow evening at 5:00 pm EST, where they will take on Hanover College (2-4-0) on the road, followed by a meeting with Centre College (5-1-0) in Danville, Ky. Sunday evening at 7:00 pm EST to cap off this upcoming week's games.
