ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Spalding University men's soccer senior Micah Mattes has been named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Mattes made a total of 14 saves on the week in two games. He tallied seven saves against Bellarmine and seven saves against Anderson.

It is the second SLIAC Defensive Player of the Week award of the year for men's soccer.

The Golden Eagles return to action on Saturday, September 27th. SU will travel to Lyon College for their first SLIAC game of the season. Kickoff is set for 1:30 PM ET.
