Esports Week 3 Recap - Fall 2026

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Valorant team led the way for Spalding Esports this week, taking a dominant win in their ECAC division. Fortnite was close behind with both Solos and Duos holding strong on the leaderboards.

Valorant
Valorant started their week on Tuesday taking on Coppin State for their ECAC matchup. Map One took the Eagles to Ascent and Map Two was played on the Eagles' pick, Abyss. In a matchup of Eagles, Spalding took early control of the match going up 11-1 at the swap. With a start like that SU easily cleaned up Ascent taking the map 13-1. Moving over to Spalding's map pick, the momentum continued. While they could not match the first map's performance, Spalding took the map 13-5. Sophomore Andrew Bland was selected as the Match MVP by his teammates, playing a supporting role and being in the correct position during key points of the match that set the team up for success. Junior Bianca Cunningham led the team with a scoreline of 45/16/7.

For GLEC Play the Eagles dropped their matchup against Valparaiso, and have two matches in Week 4 where they will take on Shawnee State University and Ohio Wesleyan University.

SSBU
In Week 3 the SSBU team took on a tough opponent in the Baldwin Wallace Yellowjackets. While the series ended 0-2, the Eagles showed improvement from the last couple of weeks.

Rocket League
In their Week 2 matchup for ECAC, Rocket League faced off against Concordia University. The Eagles had a much better showing this week, keeping the first three games close. Balin Cadora-Luebbert led the way for the Eagles on the night scoring 4 goals in the series. While they dropped the matchup 0-4, each game was close.

Fortnite
Both Zero-Build Solos and Duos played this week. The Fortnite Duo of Khoa Nguyen-Truong and Brock Venteicher made their debut for Spalding Esports. In their games for the night they managed to grab 100 points securing a place near the top of the leaderboard. Malakhi Barton-Farcas played in the second open for Solos.
