Women’s cross country slotted in sixth in SLIAC Preseason Poll

ST. LOUIS, Mo. -  Spalding women's cross country was picked to place sixth in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Championship per the 2023 SLIAC coaches preseason poll. 

The Golden Eagles earned sixth in the poll with 39 points. Greenville will be looking for their second championship in a row as they placed first with 81 points and nine votes for first place. Eureka and Principia tied for second with 64 points each.

Spalding's Lexie Barthmaier is the Golden Eagle on the SLIAC Women's Cross Country Preseason Watch List. She earned Second Team All-SLIAC last season for the Spalding squad.

The 2023 SLIAC Championship will be October 28th, in Litchfield, Ill. The Golden Eagles first race will be the Rose-Hulman Opener in Terre Haute, Ind. on Sept. 1st.
