ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) coaches preseason poll has Spalding men's basketball slotted in eighth, the league announced Wednesday.
 
Fontbonne University, who won last year's SLIAC regular-season championship, took the first-place nod with 47 total points and five first-place votes. Webster University earned the second most first-place votes with two in their second-place ranking. The Golden Eagles earned 13 total points in the poll and came just one shy of tying Greenville for the seventh spot.
 
The 2022-23 SLIAC Men's Basketball Tournament takes place February 22-25 at campus sites. Spalding begins the regular-season at home on Wednesday, November 9 against Hanover College at 7 p.m.
