Abnel St. Fleur was named the SLIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. This marks the second consecutive week where the award has been given to a Spalding player, with
Mani Bakari claiming the honor just one week ago.
St. Fleur, a freshman midfielder from Louisville, Ky., carried the offensive work load for the Golden Eagles as they earned a 2-1-0 record for the week. St. Fleur notched two crucial goals in a thrilling, come-from-behind victory over Aurora University on Friday. His second goal of the match came with six seconds remaining in regulation, assuring the 3-2 win for Spalding. St. Fleur also netted the game-tying goal with 1.5 seconds to play in Spalding's 2-1 double overtime victory at Franklin.
St. Fleur and the Golden Eagles will return to the pitch tomorrow at 5:30 pm EST against Berea College at home, followed by a meeting with Earlham College in Richmond, Ind. Saturday afternoon at 3:30 pm EST to cap off this week's games.
