LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Spalding's Tenko Kono has been named the SLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week marking the third straight week a Golden Eagle has received a weekly conference award.
 
Kono, a senior from Lexington, Ky., helped the Golden Eagles to two key conference wins last week; remaining unbeaten in conference play and clinching a playoff spot. With Kono at center back, the Golden Eagles picked up wins over Webster and Principia. He tallied an assist in his team's 2-1 victory over Webster and followed with the game-winning goal, on a penalty kick, in a 3-2 overtime win over Principia.
 
Kono and the Golden Eagles will be back on the pitch tomorrow at home squaring off against Greenville at 3:00 pm EST.
