ELSAH, Ill. – The Spalding University volleyball team lost their third straight match, 3-0, to Principia College, losing their sets 25-20, 25-20, and 27-25. The loss drops the Golden Eagles record to 6-4 on the season. Principia College improves their record to 3-3.
SU outperformed Principia defensively recording 63 digs to Principia's 55. However, offensively, the Panthers earned 55 kills to SU's 38. Sophia Hathaway and Emily Tippetts led the Panther in kills earning 14 a piece.
Jessica Diehl was once again the offensive leader for the Golden Eagles tallying 11 kills.
Katelyn Cosgrove continues to rack up the assists earning 17 of Spalding's 23 total for the match.
The Golden Eagles will stay in Elsah to prepare for Blackburn College during their first match in the Principia Quad tomorrow afternoon at 1 pm
