LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University volleyball team fell 3-1 to Hanover College Wednesday night, losing their sets 25-19, 22-25, 25-17, and 25-16. This is the second straight loss the Golden Eagles have suffered at home dropping their record to 6-3 on the season.  

The Golden Eagles gave the Panthers a tough fight as they earned 42 kills on the night. However, Hanover recorded nine aces to SU's one. Defensively, Hanover tallied 20 more digs than Spalding, but the teams were even for blocks with seven a piece.

Katelyn Cosgrove earned 34 of Spalding's 40 total assists for the night as well as three blocks. Victoria Heitzman led the Golden Eagles offense with 12 kills. Jessica Diehl was right behind her recording 10 kills.

The volleyball team will take the court again Friday night at 8pm as they travel to Elsah, Ill. to take on Principia College.
