An exchange of three quick goals left SU down 2-1 after the first half, the first coming from Principia's, Nick Klusmeyer in the 27th minute on a header from a corner kick. The next play, Abdul Abdullahi assisted Hussein to score his 5th goal of the season and tie up the game. In the 28th minute, Principia answered with a diving header goal from Jose Lucero. Each team ended the first half with six shots and two corner kick opportunities apiece.

The Golden Eagles controlled the majority of the second half and challenged their keeper taking 14 shots compared to Principia's three. Leslie Chu scored his first goal of the season in the 59th minute off a header from a ball played in by Jacob McMurry to tie the game 2-2. SU continued to apply pressure striking shot after shot including one that hit the crossbar until Jacob Teasley finished off the game- winner in the 75th minute. The goal was assisted by Jacob Davis. Goalkeeper, Ryan Glynn, had three saves on the day.
