ELSAH, Ill. – The Spalding University men's soccer team came from behind to win their third straight conference game, edging out Principia College, 3-2, Thursday night. The Golden Eagles move to 5-6 overall, but remain undefeated during SLIAC play at 3-0, while Principia College falls to 3-7 on the season, and 0-3 on the conference.
After a fairly evenly played first half between both teams, SU was able to pull off a come from behind win with an explosive offensive second half and goal contributions from three different Golden Eagles.

Leslie Chu, and
Jacob Teasley each found the back of the net to secure SU's 3-2 victory.
An exchange of three quick goals left SU down 2-1 after the first half, the first coming from Principia's, Nick Klusmeyer in the 27
th minute on a header from a corner kick. The next play, Abdul Abdullahi assisted Hussein to score his 5
th goal of the season and tie up the game. In the 28
th minute, Principia answered with a diving header goal from Jose Lucero. Each team ended the first half with six shots and two corner kick opportunities apiece.
The Golden Eagles controlled the majority of the second half and challenged their keeper taking 14 shots compared to Principia's three.
Leslie Chu scored his first goal of the season in the 59
th minute off a header from a ball played in by
Jacob McMurry to tie the game 2-2. SU continued to apply pressure striking shot after shot including one that hit the crossbar until
Jacob Teasley finished off the game- winner in the 75
th minute. The goal was assisted by
Jacob Davis. Goalkeeper,
Ryan Glynn, had three saves on the day.
The Golden Eagles will be back in action this Saturday in Carlinville, Ill. as they take on Blackburn College. The SLIAC match is set for 3:30pm.
