Box Score On Monday April 21, the Spalding University baseball team travelled to Greenville, Illinois to face off against SLIAC opponent Greenville College. The Golden Eagles returned home with a 7-6 victory, improving to 20-11, 15-5 in the SLIAC.
Kyle Barbee led SU going 3-for-4 and ended the game with two runs for the Golden Eagles. Pitcher Koire Vire improved to 2-0 on the season as he struck out five through nine innings.

Sam White, doubled in the top of the second, scoring Barbee and gave the Golden Eagles a 1-0 advantage.
Greenville tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the fourth as an error by Ferch allowed Dalton McFarland to reach and allowing teammate Jared Storment to score.
Going scoreless in the third and fourth innings, the Golden Eagles scored six unanswered runs through the next three innings and headed into the seventh with a 7-1 advantage.
In the bottom of the eighth, three Greenville runs cut Spalding's lead to 7-4. In the the ninth, Tim Osbourne homered, scoring Greenville teammate Dathan Berning, to make it a 7-6 contest. The game ended on the next play as Greenville's Trevor Montgomery popped out to Ferch, giving Spalding the 7-6 win.
The Golden Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday April 23, when they travel to Lexington, Kentucky to take on Transylvania University. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m. EST.
