LOUISVILLE - The Spalding University volleyball team saw their five game win streak come to an end in a 3-2 loss to Webster University. The loss drops the Golden Eagles to 10-15 overall and 7-5 in SLIAC competition.
Elisa Burkman led the Golden Eagle offensive attack with 21 kills.
Jessica Diehl registered a match-high .538 kill percentage while tallying 15 kills on 26 attempts, and
Katelyn Cosgrove passed out a 55 assists.

Casey Wilkerson anchored the defense with 23 digs and
Erin Downs guarded the net with three solo blocks and one block assist.
The Golden Eagles dropped the first set 22-25, but bounced back to take the second set 25-22. However, the Gorloks won the third set 26-25 behind a .382 hitting percentage. Spalding rebounded taking the third set 25-18 to tie the match 2-2. Webster took an early 3-0 lead to start the final set and went on win 15-11.
Up next, the Golden Eagles will host a quad match Saturday, October 18 at the Southern Indiana Sports Complex. Spalding opens the day against Blackburn College at noon, and concludes the day with a match against MacMurray at 2:00 p.m. EST.
