Box Score The Spalding University men's basketball team lost to Baldwin Wallace University 78-53 Saturday afternoon in the consolation game at the Al Van Wie Rotary Tournament.
It was a back and forth game over the first ten minutes of the first half. The Golden Eagles trailed 12-7 at the 15:33 mark, but went on an 11-2 run, taking an 18-14 lead on a
Thomas Blakemore three-point play with 9:45 left in the half. Despite a close first ten minutes, Baldwin Wallace outscored SU 21-6 to close the half, sending SU into halftime trailing 35-24.
After the half, SU just couldn't cut into the Yellow Jackets lead as the Golden Eagled lost 78-53, falling to 0-5 on the season.
Senior forward
William Barber led the Golden Eagles with 19 points, four assists, three steals and two blocks. Barber was named to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 16 points per game for the tournament.
BW had three players finish in double-figures, led by forward Tyler Ferrell's 18 points and eight boards.
Up next, the Golden Eagles will host their home opener against Anderson University Tuesday, November 26. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m., ET at Derek Smith Gymnasium (DSG).
