Track and Field Teams Place 5th at the SLIAC Outdoor Championships

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The Spalding University men's and women's track and field teams delivered strong performances at the 2026 SLIAC Outdoor Championships, with both programs securing impressive 5th-place overall finishes. Highlighted by multiple gold-medal victories and podium placements, the Golden Eagles showcased their versatility across sprints, hurdles, distance, and field events to comfortably place in the top half of the conference standings.

Men's Team: 5th Place (70 Points)
The men's program broke the 70-point threshold to separate themselves from the bottom half of the standings, driven by stellar individual performances that resulted in two gold medals.
  • Chad Dahl (Gold, 400m): Dahl blazed past the competition in the 400-meter dash, claiming the championship title with a highly impressive time of 48.46 seconds.
  • Wyatt Frye (Gold, Javelin | Bronze, 3000m Steeplechase): Frye showcased incredible stamina and athleticism by medaling in two vastly different disciplines. He captured gold in the javelin throw and proved his endurance by adding a bronze medal in the grueling steeplechase.

Women's Team: 5th Place (67 Points)
The women's team also locked in a top-five team finish, earning 67 points behind a mix of vertical jumps and technical track events.
  • Eryn Rataiczak (Gold, Pole Vault): Reaching new heights, Rataiczak won her first-ever gold medal in the pole vault by clearing a championship-caliber height of 11'1.75".
  • Roslyn Stull (Silver, 400m Hurdles): Stull delivered a fantastic showing in the long hurdles, earning a silver medal for the Golden Eagles.
  • Lucy Jones (Bronze, 100m Hurdles): Jones added to Spalding's success in the technical sprint events, securing a bronze medal in a highly competitive 100-meter hurdles field.
