ELSAH, Ill. - Spalding's track & field program had a competitive showing in the 2026 SLIAC Indoor Championships, with both its men's and women's squads scoring key points toward overall team totals. On the men's side, Spalding finished tied for 4th place with 62 points alongside Principia College, a respectable result in a deep conference field. On the women's side, the Golden Eagles placed 3rd with 81 team points, just behind the second-place Mississippi University for Women and ahead of several other teams, a strong indicator of the depth and versatility of the women's roster this season.
TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
- Chad Dahl shined for Spalding, capturing gold in both the 200 meters and 400 meters.Â
- Eryn Rataiczak won her second straight gold in the pole vault, clearing 10'10".
- Riana Caldwell becomes just the third different Golden Eagle to win gold at indoors after her victory in the shot put.
- Spalding's Distance Medley Relay team, consisting of Wyatt Frye, Noah Stinson, Caleb Stinson, and Tobias Rice, captured 1st place in the conference DMR with a time of 10:57.57.
