ST. LOUIS, MO. - Spalding University's women's basketball team had two players earn St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) All-Conference honors, and one earned a spot on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
Sydney Raque and
Zaneiya Batiste were named to the All-Conference Second Team, and
Ma'Kaylia Lute earned All-Sportsmanship Team.
Senior
Sydney Raque averaged 14.2 ppg, 3.3 rpg, and 2.3 apg. Raque was a two-way player, as she tallied 21 blocks and 28 steals during the regular season. Sydney played a massive role in helping the Golden Eagles to a sixth seed in the SLIAC tournament.Â
This is Raque's second All-Conference award, as she snagged the second team All-Conference last season.
Junior
Zaneiya Batiste averaged 9.5 ppg, 15.6 rpg (first overall in the SLIAC), and 1.6 apg. Batiste also landed on the SLIAC All-Defensive Team. The junior tallied 31 blocks and 50 steals on the season.
Junior
Ma'Kaylia Lute earned conference honors, landing a spot on the SLIAC All-Sportmanship Team.
This is Lute's first major conference award. Lute played in all 25 games this season while starting all of them.Â
The Golden Eagles finished the regular season with a 10-16 record and a conference record of 9-9. This landed SU as the sixth seed in the SLIAC conference tournament.
