TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Spalding men's cross country team opened up their season at the Rose-Hulman Opener. The team finished fifth out of the five total teams at the meet.
TURNING POINT
The young team was led by sophomore Wyatt Frye. He finished 17th overall in a field of 75 total runners. Frye finished the hot and humid LaVern Gibson 5K course in a time of 17:37, which placed him 18th overall among the top-20 runners in school history at this distance. The next runner that crossed the line in Indiana was freshman Noah Stinson. He made his collegiate debut in a time of 20:50.9. Both sophomore Gavin Janning and freshman Caleb Stinson also made their debuts and navigated the course in a time of 21:35.4 and 21:47.7, respectively. Jager Simkins wrapped up the top five for Spalding in a time of 28:26.9.

Then men will compete again next week on Saturday, September 9 at Hanover for the Hanover Invitational. The Racing Golden Eagles are set to go off at 10:45 a.m. that morning.
