HOLLAND, MI - The Men's and Women's Cross Country team ends their season at the NCAA Great Lakes Regionals.

The Racing Eagles finish out their season competing at the regional level of the NCAA championships. The ladies started off the very snowy and mud filled course.
Lexie Barthmaier was the lone eagles to toe the line with 242 other athletes and 42 teams Saturday morning racing the 6km distance. Barthmaier crossed the 4k mark in a time of 18:05.5. And navigated the rest of the course strongly finishing in 228th with a time of 27:25.1. Today's race performance gained Barthmaier a new personal record.
Up next to toe the line were the duo of freshman
Wyatt Frye and senior
Peter McGowan. The duo toed the line along side 271 athletes and 41 other teams within the Great Lakes region. At 12:00 PM ET the men started to trek the snow adn mud filled 8k course. Frye lead the eagles for the day. Frye navigated through the 4k mark within the time of 13:23.0. Then battled hard during the second half of the race crossing the line at the time of 27:35.7 and finished in 189th. Then McGowan started off the race strong as well. He crossed through the 4k mark at a time of 13:55.0. He navigated the rest of course as the snow continued to fall on the golf course. But he managed to navigate it well enough to finish in a time of 28:21.7.
GOLDEN EAGLE NOTES
- Frye and Barthmaier set new personal best records at this meet.
- McGowan ended his final season as a Golden Eagle with a season best.
- This was the first full season under Coach Stephen Gray.
