CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Golden Eagles competed at their last indoor regular-season meet at the MSJ February Invitational this past weekend, with the men finishing 12th out of 14 teams while the women had no team score.

TURNING POINTS
Starting off for Spalding was graduate student Peter McGowan running in the 5000m. During this race, McGowan set a new top-five time in school history with an indoor personal record (PR) in a time of 16:09.99 and finished 3rd in the meet. He dethroned former SU athlete Will Brittian's time of 16:10.66.

Immediately after McGowan finished his race, freshman Gavin Janning was up in the 600m dash. Janning also put up a top-10 all-time mark in this event. He finished in a time of 1:32.49 and ranked seventh all-time in school history.

After Janning finished up, the duo of Shyanne Hagan and Vivienne Reinhardt made their career debut in the long jump. Hagan and Reinhardt both put up top-5 marks being ranked second and third respectively. Hagan set a new PR of 3.70m (12' 1.75") while Reinhardt jumped a new PR of 3.03m (9' 11.25").

Sophomore Dawn Wilson and freshman Ryan Clarkson both competed in the 60m dash. Clarkson finished in a time of 7.53 seconds and a new PR, while Wilson just narrowly missed hers and finished in a time of 8.89 seconds.

Right after the sprinters got off the track, freshman Wyatt Frye competed in the one-mile run. After being tripped he didn't give up and put up a time of 4:51.86.  Immediately after Frye completed his race he made his debut in the long jump. He put up a mark of 4.84m (15' 10.5") for a new PR. After Frye got off the track, Lexie Barthmaier competed in the one-mile as well. Finishing right behind her PR running in a time of 6:26.02.

The duo of Clarkson and Janning stepped back on the track for the 400m dash. Being in the same heat, the duo finished in 55.23 and 58.51 seconds respectively. Immediately afterward, Reinhardt hopped on the track again to compete in the same event. She put up a time of 1:10.14, this time is also Reinhardt's PR.

McGowan stepped back on the track to race in the 800m after his stellar performance in the 5000m a couple of hours before. Not competing in this event since high school, McGowan earned a new PR of 2:16.40.

For the final event for the Golden Eagles was Wilson in the 200m dash. After doubling back from the 60m she ran this event to a time of 30.02. This time was also her second-fastest time in this event.
