Box Score CARLINVILLE, Ill. – The Spalding University softball team ended regular season on the road at Blackburn. The Golden Eagles walk out with a win as they go 21-14 overall and 14-5 in conference.
Grayce Marcum would start the offense with a single and then a stolen base on the next pitch to get herself into scoring position.
Jessica Tucker would pick up a walk as her and Marcum both steal the next base for runners on second and third. Both Marcum and Tucker scored on passed balls giving Spalding a two-run advantage. Despite taking the 2-0 lead, the Beavers would cut the lead in half in the bottom of the second as they score one run on a double.
Kailey Reed would hit a single through the right side to score
Zoe Facenda who pitch ran for
Bella Velez. With a 3-1 lead, the Golden Eagles would bust open the fifth inning putting up seven more runs as Marcum hits a three-run shot over the fence.
Allison Nell would add another run as she scores Tucker who singled earlier in the inning. Miranda Thomas would hit the final blow for the Golden Eagles as she hit a three-run triple to give Spalding the 10-1 win.

Kailey Reed also goes 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Miranda Thomas finished 1-for-3 with a stand-up triple and three RBI for the Golden Eagles.
