Box Score FULTON, Mo. – The Spalding University men's soccer team picked up the road win against Westminster, 2-1, to extend their record to 4-5-1 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
Despite lightning pushing the kickoff time back, Spalding would come out quick to get on the board early as
Ahmadou Gueye would find the back of the net in the 19
th minute of play. Gueye found the ball off the foot of
Luc Cesar to put the Golden Eagles up by one. The Blue Jays would tie the score in the 39
th minute as a free ball would get past the defense. Coming out of the half, the Spalding offense did not yield as
Caleb Jackson shot past the goalie off the assist from Gueye to give Spalding the lead. The Golden Eagles' defense kept the ball off their side of the field for a road victory in SLIAC play.
Assan Gueye picks up the win in the net for the Golden Eagles for an extended record of 3-0.
The Golden Eagles will take on Principia on the road Saturday, October 2
nd with a kickoff time at 2:00pm ET.
