Men's Soccer Grabs Home Field Advantage For SLIAC Quarterfinal

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Spalding University men's soccer secured a 4-2 victory over Blackburn College on Wednesday, led by a two-goal performance from TJ Heil. The Golden Eagles took control immediately in the fourth minute when Heil scored early to give Spalding a 1-0 advantage. Spalding maintained that lead heading into the break before doubling their margin early in the second half, as Semir Siljkovic set up Heil for his second goal of the match in the 51st minute.

Blackburn pushed back shortly after, scoring back-to-back goals from Sean Castenada in the 56th and 58th minutes (the latter assisted by Talan Miller) to tie the game at 2-2. However, Spalding quickly reclaimed momentum as Adam Gritton netted the go-ahead goal in the 64th minute. Benit Mulume provided the final insurance goal in the 89th minute to cap off the 4-2 win for the Golden Eagles.
