LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Golden Eagles capped off a six-game homestand splitting a doubleheader against SLIAC Iowa Wesleyan. Spalding dropped game one, 5-3, but rebounded to shutout the Tigers, 8-0, in  game two Sunday in Louisville, Ky.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
• Trailing 5-0 in the third, Mackenzie Henderson double down the left field line allowing Addison Morris to go from first to home to cut SU's deficit to four runs.

• With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Spalding attempted to rally. Ally Klein doubled to left field and a field error allowed Lindsey Hubbard to advance home. Callie Janek popped up a ball to shallow right center the second baseman dropped allowing Klein to score bringing Mac Henderson to the plate with a chance to tie the game, but Henderson popped up to short to end the game.

GAME ONE STAT LEADERS
• Ally Klein went .500 (2-for-4) at the plate with two doubles, while driving in and scoring a run.

• Amber Kilburn (5-8) suffered the loss allowing five runs, four earned, on six hits, while striking out six batters, in 7.0 innings pitched.

FOR THE FOES
• Serena Almovodar drove in a pair of runs while going 2-for-4 to lead the Tiger hitters.

• Samantha McIlwain (3-7) earned the win holding Spalding to three runs, one earned, on five hits, while striking out four batters in 7.0 innings pitched.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
• The Golden Eagles go on the scoreboard early in game two when Olivia Carter grounded out allowing Ally Klein to score from third.

• Spalding added three more runs in the second inning to go ahead, 4-0. Freshman Grace Sweat hit a two-run bomb over the wall in center field also bringing Brianna Eatmon across the dish. Klein hit her third double of the day, this time to left center driving in Jennifer Peffley from second.

• A trio of runs in the fourth inning stretched Spalding's lead to seven runs. Reigning SLIAC Hitter of the Week hit a three-run home run scoring Klein and Addison Morris.

• In the bottom of the sixth, Carter ended the game with a single to right field scoring Klein to put SU ahead, 8-0, enforcing the eight-run rule.  

GAME TWO STAT LEADERS
• Ally Klein carried over her hot streak at the plate going a perfect 4-for-4 including a double driving in a run and scoring three.

• Kaylin Rucker drove in a team best three run on a 1-for-3 performance at the plate.  

• Grace Sweat and Olivia Carter each drove in a pair of runs.

• Olivia Carter (9-3) earned her seventh straight win shutting out the Tigers while scattering three hits, in 6.0 innings pitched.

FOR THE FOES
• Julie Dodd (2-7) suffered the loss allowing eight runs, on 11 hits, while walking five batters in 5.0 innings pitched.
