ANGOLA, Ind. – The Spalding men's basketball team suffered a loss to Trine, 93-55, in the opener of the St. Andrews Products Classic.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Eagles trailed in the game from start to finish. The Thunder jumped out to a 6-0 lead, led by seven midway through the first half and rolled to 45-24 lead at halftime. The Golden Eagles used a 4-0 spurt to begin the second half to get within 17 points, but Trine used a 5-0 run to push the margin back to 22 and pulled away the remainder of the game.

Troy Amanor led the Golden Eagles offense scoring a career-high 17 points.
Marcus Montgomery was the only other SU player to finish in double-figures adding 14 points.
FOR THE FOES
- Myles Copeland paced the Thunder scoring 23 points, Pete Smith scored 18 points going 6-of-7 from beyond the arc and Trey Helinski added 11 points.
