HANOVER, Ind. – The Spalding men's basketball team opened the 2018-19 season falling at Hanover, 78-55, Wednesday evening at Collier Arena in Hanover, Ind.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Eagles fell behind 11-0 to start the game, and trailed 39-20 at halftime. SU struggled to score in the first half shooting 26.5 percent from the field and 14.3 percent from beyond the arc.
- The Panthers continued to pull away in second half pushing their lead to 31 points with 10:58 to play. The Golden Eagles rallied down the stretch outscoring Hanover, 26 to 18, before falling 78-55.
- The Golden Eagles were led by their backcourt;
Dominique Ellis paced SU with 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting, while
Jobby Howard and
Marcus Montgomery added 10 point apiece. Freshman,
Troy Amanor pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds and scored eight points, while Bredan Holt added seven points shooting 50 percent from the floor.
FOR THE FOES
- Zach Harp led the Panthers with 19 points going 7-of-11 from the field, including 5-of-8 from long range. Isaac Hibbard and Connor Washburn also finished in double-figures scoring 16 and 10 points respectively.
