LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding University men's soccer team won their second straight conference game against Westminster College, 1-0. SU improves to 4-6 on the season and 2-0 in SLIAC play.
The Golden Eagles struggled getting their shots on target, earning nine shots total but only two on frame. The Blue Jays, however, took 17 shots forcing SU keeper,
Ryan Glynn, to come up with eight saves. Westminster keeper, Ben Chesher made just one.

Jacob McMurry had an early opportunity for the Golden Eagles striking a shot around the top of the 18, but the ball bounced off the post. The goal came in the 23
rd minute of the game for
Osman Hussein, his fourth of the season. The goal was assisted by Abdul Abdullahi. The Golden Eagles spent the remainder of regulation defending their net, after giving up nine total corner kicks to Westminster.
Joey Lesher and the back line were able to pull off the shutout to earn the victory.
Next up, the men's soccer team will travel to Elsah, Ill. to take on Principia College. The SLIAC match is set for 9 pm EST on October 6
th.
