Box Score FRANKLIN – The Spalding University women's soccer team raced out to a 3-1 lead at halftime, but fell short allowing four second goals as they lost to Franklin College, 5-3.

Baylee Tabler led the Golden Eagles scoring a total of five points, scoring two goals and passing out one assist.

Emily Lindsay (0-2) earned the loss allowing five goals while collecting 12 saves.
Franklin struck first when forward Clare Lenart scored a goal in the third minute to give the Grizzlies a 1-0 lead. Spalding responded, outscoring Franklin 3-0 to end the half.
Baylee Tabler evened the game up with a goal in the 14
th minute and gave Spalding the lead with her second goal of the game at the 21:03 mark. Spalding pushed their lead to two goals when Tabler found
Dee Dee Sliter who fired a shot past the Franklin keeper to make the score 3-1 heading into the half.
However, the host Grizzlies slotted four second half goals to earn the win. Danielle Owens scored back-to-back goals in the 49
th and 51
st minute to knot the score, 3-3. A minute three seconds later Haley Lowe slotted the go-ahead goal giving Franklin the lead for the first time since the 14:45 mark in the first half. Masey Bunn added a goal in the 73
rd minute to make the final score 5-3.
The Golden Eagles will be back in action Saturday, September 27 when they open SLIAC play against Greenville College. Kickoff is slated for 12:00 p.m., EST at Champions Trace.
