Six Different Goal Scorers Power Spalding Women's Soccer Past Lyon in 6–0 Shutout

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Powered by a balanced offensive explosion featuring six different goal scorers, the Spalding University women's soccer team cruised to a 6–0 victory over Lyon College on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Legacy Fields in Louisville, Kentucky. The Golden Eagles dominated from start to finish to improve to 7–5–2 overall and 5–1–1 in conference play, while the Scots dropped to 2–9–1 overall and 2–4–1 in SLIAC action in front of a home crowd of 225 fans.

Spalding wasted no time establishing control, opening the scoring in the eighth minute when Trinity Bauwens found the back of the net off double assists from Clara Creg and Alyssa Ochsner. The Golden Eagles broke the game wide open late in the first half with two goals in a three-minute span, as Maddie Campbell netted an unassisted strike in the 27th minute before setting up Claira Andrews for a tally at 29:39 to build a 3–0 halftime advantage. The momentum carried right into the second half, where Macey Sawyer scored off a pass from Madison Dziedzic in the 66th minute, followed less than two minutes later by an unassisted goal from Creg at 66:55. Dziedzic capped off the dominant performance in the 85th minute by converting a feed from Andrews for her team-leading sixth goal of the season.

Throughout the match, Spalding dictated tempo and controlled field position, outshooting Lyon 26–4 overall and 14–4 in shots on target, while also earning a commanding 11–0 advantage in corner kicks. Four Golden Eagles recorded multi-point games with a goal and an assist each—Creg, Campbell, Andrews, and Dziedzic—while Campbell led the attack with seven total shots. Goalkeepers Lily Brennen and Kinsley Bechtold split time between the posts to combine for Spalding's second straight shutout, with Brennen making one save in the first half and Bechtold turning away three in the second, while Lyon keeper Sydney Wolf finished with eight saves under heavy pressure.
