Box Score 2 The Spalding University (6-9, 1-3 SLIAC) softball dropped both games of their doubleheader against Greenville College (9-5, 2-0 SLIAC) Saturday, 13-7 and 9-6.
Spalding 13 – Greenville 7
After two scoreless innings, Greenville exploded for a six run top of the third to take a 6-0 lead. Spalding scored seven runs over the final three innings, but the Panthers matched each run to take the game 13-7.
Alyssa McAfee led SU at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and scored one run. Tiffany Samsoe led Panther hitters with three RBI on 2-of-5 hitting.
Courtney Miller took the loss, allowing five runs, four earned on eight hits with two strikeouts.
Spalding 6 – Greenville 9
Spalding's
Becca Mouser ripped a two run double to left center field to give the Lady Eagles a 5-1 lead heading into the sixth, but SU found themselves behind a run after a five run top of the sixth gave Greenville a 6-5 lead.
SU answered in the bottom half of the inning.

Katy Flanagan to knot the game at 6-6.
Samsoe struck again in the seventh, blasting a two-run homer, and Shelby Cash drove in Andrea Martin to put SU in a three-run hole heading into the bottom of the seventh. Â SU loaded the bases, but
Hannah Stucker popped out to short stop to end the game.
Mouser led Spalding at the dish, with two RBI on one hit. Samsoe, Oldham and Laubecher led the Panthers with two RBI apiece.
Kelci Flener took the loss, allowing nine runs on 10 hits while striking out three hitters and walking one.
The Lady Eagles will be back in action Wednesday when the host Hanover College at 6:00 p.m., EST. Wednesday's game will be played at
HOLY CROSS HIGH SCHOOL not Jeffersontown High School.
