Box Score 2 In the second day if the Myrtle Beach tournament, The Lady Eagles dropped University of Pikeville 4-3 in 8 innings and went on to defeat the College of New Rochelle 15-0.

Kelsey McDowell went 2 for 4 recording 1 run and 2 RBIs to help secure a Spalding victory over the University of Pikeville Bears.
The Lady Eagles scored two runs in the top of the first inning to take a 2-0 lead.Â
Hannah Stucker, the first pitcher up to the plate, reached on a single and stole second base. Broke Lamon reached on an error, advancing Stucker to third and in scoring position. Pikeville's second error of the inning would lead to a Spalding run.
Alyssa McAfee reached to first on the error by Pikeville's second baseman, advancing Lamon to second and allowing Stucker to score the Lady Eagles' first run. Dowell was next to bat, and singled advancing McAfee to second and scoring Lamon.
Spalding ended the top of the first with 2 hits, 2 runs, and 1 RBI apiece from McDowell and McAfee. In the bottom of the first, Kelcie Flener walked a Pikeville batter but she would be left on base, as no other Bear would reach; the Bears ended the first inning with 0 hits and 0 runs.
Neither team would score in the second inning but 2 Pikeville runs in the bottom of the third tied the game at 2-2. A Spalding error allowed Weeks to reach and scored Bear teammate Howard, who had previously doubled. Weeks stole second base and after a double by Morgan would score and tie the game up for the Bears.
The game would go an extra inning as the game was tied after seven innings. In the top of the eighth, Spalding scored 2 runs to push the game to 4-2.
With McAfee place on second, McDowell singled which allowed McAfee to score Spalding's third run of the game. With runners on base
Becca Mouser reached, scoring McDowell and pushing the Lady Eagle lead to 4-3. Spalding ended the top of the inning with 3 hits, 2 runs and 2 RBIs. In the bottom of the inning, Howard scored, off a sacrifice fly by Connally, to pull within one. With the score at 4-3, a line out to Spalding shortstop by Morgan ended the game. Pitcher Courtney Miller pitched through 3 innings and recorded the victory, improving to 1-3 on the season.

Hannah Stucker led the Lady Eagles going 3 for 3 scoring 2 runs and recording 1 RBI to push the Lady Eagles to a 15-0 win over the College of New Rochelle.
Freshman
Miranda Ladanyi got her first win of the season, pitching 4.2 innings, giving up zero runs on three hits and nine strikeouts.
Stucker reached first and advanced to second after a pitch hit
Brooke Lamon. McAfee reached first allowing Lamon and Stucker to score Spalding's first two runs. After stealing second base, McAfee scored on a
Kelsey McDowell triple. Spalding continued to push their lead in the first as
Katy Flanagan singled and scored McDowell. With the lead up to 4-0 and with the bases loaded a
Callie Howard triple scored
McKenna Brinley and Flanagan. Miranda Lidanyi singled scoring Howard, and Lidanyi would score off a double by Stucker. In her second at-bat in the first, McAfee singled allowing Lamon to score Spalding's ninth run of the inning.
SU wouldn't let up on the gas, scoring four more runs in the third inning, extending their lead 13-0.

Cortney Miller each recorded an RBI and a triple by
Brooke Conder gave her two RBI's for the inning.
A few more insurance runs in the fifth inning gave the Golden Eagles the 15-0 run rule victory over New Rochelle.
Spalding softball will be back in conference play Saturday, March 22 when they take on Greenville College in a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m. EST at Jeffersontown High School.
