April Fisher's nine kills helped lead the Spalding volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Eureka College in SLIAC volleyball action Monday night at Derek Smith Gymnasium.
The Golden Eagles stumbled out of the gate falling behind 5-2, but found their stroke as they went on to win the first set 25-15. Spalding took the second set behind a match-high .708 kill percentage to take a 2-0 advantage. SU sealed the deal taking the third set in dominant fashion, 25-7.
Outside hitter
Elisa Burkman paced the attack with 10 kills, and
Jessica Diehl had a match-high .667 kill percentage.
Katelyn Cosgrove distributed 30 assists while anchoring the defense with seven digs and two solo blocks. Diehl also had a solid night on defense tallying five digs and four solo blocks.
The Golden Eagles scattered 11 service aces, hit .463 and totaled eight blocks.
With the win, Spalding improves to 10-5 in conference and 13-15 overall.
Up next, the Golden Eagles will return to the road to take on Westminster College Friday, October 24 at 8:00 p.m., EST.
