The Spalding University women's soccer team saw their five game winning streak come to an end as they fell to Webster University 3-0 Wednesday. The loss drops SU to 7-5-1 overall and 5-2 in the SLIAC.

Spalding fell behind 1-0 in the first half when WU's Jessica Mess found the back of the net in the 31st minute.

The Gorlocks added two more goals in the second half and their suffocating defense kept SU from being able to get back in the game.

Webster outshot the Golden Eagles 24-7 and held a 7-5 corner advantage.

Kayla Hart and Dee Dee Sliter led Spalding with two shots apiece, and goalkeeper Kelsey Kaiser tallied nine saves.

Up next, Spalding will travel to St. Louis, Missouri to battle Fontbonne University Saturday, October 26. Kick-off is set for 3:00 p.m., ET.
