Baseball Stays Perfect in SLIAC Play with Sweep of Eureka

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Spalding baseball stayed red-hot over the weekend, sweeping Eureka College in a three-game SLIAC series at Derby City Field and extending its conference unbeaten streak.

Game One: Spalding 4, Eureka 1
Spalding opened the series with a strong pitching performance and timely hitting, taking a 4-1 win on Friday. After both teams traded runs early, Spalding broke things open with a two-run sixth inning and added an insurance run in the eighth. Offensively, Spalding got key contributions throughout the lineup, delivering timely hits in the middle innings to create separation. On the mound, Caden Krystofiak earned the win with a steady outing, keeping Eureka off balance, while the bullpen closed things out late. Spalding limited Eureka to just one run on seven hits, controlling the game from the mound and playing clean defense behind it.

Game Two: Spalding 12, Eureka 7
The Golden Eagles' offense came alive in game two, powering a 12-7 victory to secure the doubleheader sweep. Spalding jumped out early with two runs in the first and added a four-run third inning to build momentum. The lineup stayed aggressive throughout, finishing with 14 hits and scoring in five different innings. Even as Eureka tried to claw back late, Spalding continued to respond offensively, including a three-run seventh that helped seal the win. Jordan Howard picked up the win on the mound, working through traffic and keeping Spalding in control when it mattered most.

Game Three: Spalding 11, Eureka 1
Spalding completed the sweep in dominant fashion on Saturday with an 11-1 run-rule win. The Golden Eagles steadily built their lead, scoring in five different innings before breaking things open with a five-run seventh. The offense once again produced up and down the lineup, combining for 11 runs in a complete team performance. On the mound, Cameron Rayborn earned the win, limiting Eureka to just one run while scattering hits efficiently. Spalding's defense remained sharp, finishing the game without committing an error.

Overall Takeaway
Across the three-game series, Spalding outscored Eureka 27-9 and showed balance in all phases—strong starting pitching, reliable bullpen work, and an offense that consistently produced in key moments. Behind performances from Krystofiak, Howard, and Rayborn on the mound, the Golden Eagles controlled the series from start to finish. The sweep pushed Spalding to 6-0 in SLIAC play, reinforcing their early-season dominance in conference competition.
