OLIVET, Mich. - The Spalding men's volleyball team swept Olivet in straight sets on the road.

The Golden Eagles controlled the match from the opening serve, earning a decisive 3–0 victory with set scores of 25–14, 25–12, and 25–19. Despite being made up entirely of freshmen, Spalding played with poise and confidence throughout the contest.
Spalding's offense was efficient and balanced, finishing with 29 total kills and consistently keeping Olivet out of system. The Golden Eagles applied pressure from the service line, recording five aces, and were strong defensively at the net with eight total blocks. Their ability to limit errors and capitalize on scoring runs proved to be the difference, particularly in the first two sets where they built early leads and never looked back.
Individually, several freshmen stepped up in key roles.
Max Atherton led the attack with nine kills, while
Khoa Nguyen-Truong added six to help pace the offense. The setting unit distributed the ball effectively, allowing multiple hitters to stay involved and keeping Olivet guessing defensively. In the back row, Spalding showed discipline and hustle, turning defense into transition opportunities that widened the gap as the match progressed.
