LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Spalding women's basketball pulled away late to earn a strong conference victory over Eureka this past weekend, defeating the Red Devils 65–46 at Derek Smith Gymnasium.
TURNING POINT
After a slow start offensively, the Golden Eagles settled in and took control of the game, using balanced scoring and defensive pressure to flip the momentum before halftime.
Spalding outscored Eureka in each of the final three quarters, highlighted by a dominant fourth quarter that put the game out of reach.
Zaneiya Batiste led the way with a double-double, controlling the paint on both ends, while
Ma'Kaylia Lute,
Brooke McNeal, and
Nicole Hollowell provided key scoring to keep the offense steady. Defensively, Spalding limited Eureka's shooting opportunities and capitalized on stops to extend the lead down the stretch, securing an important SLIAC win and continuing to build momentum as conference play continues.
