LOUISVILLE, Ky. – On Wednesday, Spalding baseball hosted Hanover College. Spalding won 15-6, extending their win-streak to eight.
Spalding improved to 17-7 on the season, while the Panthers to 8-14.
TURNING POINT - SPALDING 15, HANOVER 6
Despite falling behind early, Spalding's offense exploded for 15 runs on 15 hits, capitalizing on Hanover's defensive struggles. The Panthers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after scoring one run in the first inning and three more in the third. However, Spalding responded with a massive five-run rally in the bottom of the third to take control of the game.
The Golden Eagles continued their offensive surge in the middle innings, scoring six runs in the fourth and adding three more in the sixth to put the game out of reach. Hanover pushed across single runs in the fourth and eighth innings, but their efforts weren't enough to overcome Spalding's relentless scoring. On the mound,
Andrew Harbison earned the win for Spalding, improving his record to 1-0.
