FULTON, Mo. – On Saturday, Spalding baseball traveled to Westminster College for a doubleheader. SU won two games.
Spalding improved to 15-7 (6-0 SLIAC) on the season, while the Blue Jays fell to 11-12 (4-2 SLIAC).
GAME ONE - SPALDING 25, WESTMINSTER 8
The Golden Eagles' bats were relentless, amassing 23 hits, with multiple players recording multi-hit performances. Spalding wasted no time, plating four runs in the first inning before breaking the game open with a seven-run second. The decisive blow came in the fourth inning, where they erupted for 11 runs, taking full advantage of defensive miscues and timely hitting.
Pitching-wise,
Caden Krystofiak earned the win, keeping Westminster's offense in check despite their 12 hits. The bullpen held firm, preventing any chance of a comeback.
Westminster struggled defensively, committing two costly errors that fueled Spalding's scoring surge. Though they managed to push across eight runs, it wasn't enough to overcome the Golden Eagles' offensive firepower.
GAME TWO - SPALDING 6, WESTMINSTER 4
After a scoreless start, the Golden Eagles broke the tie in the fifth inning with a four-run rally and added two more in the sixth. Westminster fought back with a three-run ninth but could not complete the comeback.
Cameron Rayborn was solid throughout the game, ensuring the victory.

- Whitt Callahan tallied six RBIs and went 5-10 from the plate.
- Cameron Rayborn pitched six innings, gave up only three hits, and tallied nine strikeouts.
