LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Spalding men's basketball team played SLIAC opponent Webster on Wednesday. SU won 67-57.
The Golden Eagles moved to 16-6 (14-1 SLIAC), while the Gorloks fell to 3-18 (0-14 SLIAC).
TURNING POINT
The Gorloks jumped out to an early 7-2 lead, and despite Spalding's best efforts to respond, Webster managed to maintain a slight edge throughout the first half. Spalding struggled from three-point range, hitting just 1 of 8 attempts. Webster took the lead into half, 35-30.
Coming out of the locker room, Spalding's defense took over. The Golden Eagles tightened up, forcing turnovers and limiting Webster's offensive options. Spalding found their rhythm offensively, with balanced scoring and improved shooting. The Golden Eagles outscored the Gorloks 37-22 in the second half, with key contributions from
Jacoby Johnson and
Anthony Dillard.

- Anthony Dillard led the way for SU with 18 points, 13 rebounds, and two steals.
- Jacoby Johnson was everywhere for SU. Johnson ended the game with 17 points, three rebounds, three assists, three steals, and two blocks.
- SU extended their win streak to 11.
