SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Spalding Golden Eagles delivered a resilient performance, overcoming the Bob Jones University Fighting Bruins 85-79 to move to 2-1 on the season.
TURNING POINT
Spalding found itself trailing 38-34 at the half, after Bob Jones shot about 48.5 percent from the field in the first half and built a lead with active paint scoring and effective three-point shooting. The Golden Eagles, however, rallied in the second half behind a stronger interior presence and improved bench depth, outscoring the Bruins 51-41 in the final 20 minutes to secure the win.
Key contributors included freshman guard
Dawsyn Miller, who exploded for 31 points on 11-18 from the field and 7-13 from deep, playing 30 minutes and leading by example. Also notable was sophomore forward
Levi Langley, who added 12 points (4-8 FG, 3-7 3PT), five boards and three assists in 30 minutes of action. On the glass, freshman center
Lekendrick Morris grabbed six offensive and nine defensive rebounds (total 15) and netted 16 points, providing the physical presence needed in the second half.

- From a team perspective, Spalding shot 48.3 percent overall (29-60) and 37.5 percent from three (12-32). Free throws were strong at 68.2 percent (15-22).
- The bench contributed significantly—43 points off the Spalding reserves—providing the depth advantage in the closing minutes.
