LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Spalding men's basketball turned in one of its most complete performances of the young season on Tuesday, rolling past Greenville 102–87 in a high-tempo matchup that Spalding controlled from start to finish.
TURNING POINT
The Eagles established their rhythm early, breaking through Greenville's pressure and consistently attacking the rim, which helped them build a steady lead that never truly felt threatened. Spalding's offensive efficiency was the story of the night as the team shot an incredible 73.8 percent from the field, converting 45 of its 61 attempts while dominating the paint and beating Greenville's pace-and-space style at its own game.
Leading the way was
Lekendrick Morris, who delivered one of the best individual performances in program history. Morris went a perfect 14-for-14 from the floor, finishing with 30 points while overpowering Greenville inside all night long.
Levi Langley followed with a strong all-around effort, posting 13 points, nine rebounds, and four assists as he helped anchor both ends of the floor.
Kameron Jones added efficient scoring of his own with 11 points on perfect shooting, and Spalding's depth came through with players like
Brunley Fon and
Devonte McCampbell combining for key minutes and 22 points off the bench. Their contributions helped sustain the scoring pace and keep Greenville from making any meaningful run.
Spalding also controlled the glass from wire to wire, outrebounding Greenville 59–41 and limiting the Panthers to just one shot on most possessions. Greenville, meanwhile, struggled to match Spalding's efficiency. The Panthers fired up 100 shots but connected on only 31 percent of them, including an 11-for-52 night from beyond the arc. While Greenville tried to speed up the game with their trademark pressure, Spalding's discipline and ability to finish around the rim prevented the Panthers from gaining momentum.
With the win, Spalding improves to 3–1 and opens conference play on a strong note.
