LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Spalding University women's soccer team delivered an outstanding performance on October 4, rolling to a commanding 7-0 victory over Mississippi University for Women at Legacy Fields. TURNING POINT
From start to finish, the Golden Eagles controlled every aspect of the match, displaying sharp offensive execution and defensive discipline that led to one of their most dominant outings of the season. Spalding wasted no time setting the tone offensively. Emma Livingston opened the scoring just seven minutes into the match with an assist from Melaney Frick, giving the Eagles early momentum. Midway through the first half, Maddie Campbell doubled the lead off a feed from Elle Trentman, and before halftime, Livingston added her second goal on an assist from Taylor Touche. Just over a minute later, Claira Andrews extended the lead to 4-0 with an unassisted strike, sending Spalding into the break with complete control.

The second half brought no relief for the visitors as Spalding continued to pour on the pressure. Livingston completed her hat trick early in the period, assisted by Karolyn Lighthall, marking her third goal of the day and showcasing her finishing ability. Lighthall then found the back of the net herself minutes later, assisted by Trentman, pushing the score to 6-0. Late in the match, Frick capped off the offensive showcase with a goal of her own, sealing the 7-0 victory for the Golden Eagles.

Defensively, Spalding was impenetrable. The back line held strong throughout, not allowing a single shot on goal. Goalkeeper Sophie Young-Neawedde recorded another clean sheet without facing a test, as the defensive unit kept possession and limited any attacking opportunities from start to finish. The Eagles dominated statistically as well, outshooting their opponent 31-0 and holding a commanding 15-0 advantage in corner kicks.
