WEBSTER GROVES, Mo. - Spalding men's basketball extends their SLIAC win-streak to three after a 74-52 win over Webster.
The Golden Eagles moved to 8-6 (6-1 SLIAC), while the Gorloks fell to 7-7 (6-1 SLIAC).
TURNING POINT
In the first half, Spalding came out firing, quickly establishing their rhythm on offense.
Anthony Dillard set the tone with his inside presence, scoring effectively in the paint, while
Jacoby Johnson added crucial buckets from mid-range and beyond. The team moved the ball well, creating high-percentage shots and building a 42-33 lead at the break. SU's defense was solid to end the first half.
After halftime, Spalding shifted gears defensively, focusing on limiting Webster's key scorers and disrupting their offensive flow. The Golden Eagles held Webster to just 19 points in the second half by forcing turnovers and contesting every shot. On the offensive end, Spalding continued their balanced attack, with contributions from multiple players. Dillard remained dominant on the boards, while Johnson's timely scoring helped widen the gap. The team's discipline and composure allowed them to maintain control and close the game with authority, 74-52.
GOLDEN EAGLE NOTES
- Anthony Dillard scored 18 points (6-9 FG) and snagged nine rebounds. Dillard also tallied five assists.
- Jacoby Johnson racked up the box score with 16 points, three rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Johnson shot 3-6 from three-pointers.
- Andre Crawford was impressive with 10 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Crawford was consistent, shooting 50% from the floor.
- Devonte McCampbell, in his return, tallied 10 points, five rebounds, and an assist.
