ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Spalding men's basketball traveled to St. Louis on Thursday for a SLIAC contest. SU took home the win, 69-59.

Spalding moved to 4-2 (2-0 SLIAC), while the Panthers fell to 1-6 (0-2 SLIAC).

TURNING POINT
It was a quick start for the Golden Eagles. Entering this game, it was clear SU wanted to use their strength and attack the paint. Anthony Dillard and Devonte McCampbell got the scoring rolling for Spalding. The score reached 11-9 in favor of the Golden Eagles, and Kameron Jones gave SU a huge spark off the bench. Jones instantly entered the game and knocked down a huge three-pointer to extend the lead to five. Jones got hot quickly and hit two more threes in a row, giving him nine fast points. Both teams battled, keeping the score close, but Spalding took the lead into halftime, 38-30.

Dillard opened the half on fire, scoring the first six points for Spalding. Andre Crawford joined the scoring column with a nice pull-up jump shot. The Golden Eagles did a fantastic job maintaining their lead against the Panthers. Dillard and Jones continued their great scoring days to keep the lead around 10 points. SU finished the game strong and remained undefeated in the SLIAC. The Golden Eagles won 69-59.

Spalding will travel to Fontbonne University on Saturday, December 7th, for another SLIAC matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
