Joy-Brandon accepts full-time position with Mockingbird Valley Premier

After spending the past six months as the Assistant Men's Soccer Coach at Spalding, Tyler Joy-Brandon will step away from his position as he accepts a full-time coaching director role with Mockingbird Valley Premier.

Joy-Brandon was an instrumental piece to the Golden Eagles 2023 campaign, hitting the ground running as the second full-time assistant coach for the program. In particular, Tyler worked as the recruiting coordinator, directed all film and game analysis sessions, and oversaw multiple aspects of training. The Transy alum and former D-III All-American helped guide SU to an 8-6-3 overall record, which included a 5-2-2 record and 3rd place finish in SLIAC play, a #2 seed in the conference tournament and the fourth semifinal appearance in five years for Spalding. He saw the Golden Eagles land six All-SLIAC players, including the Offensive Player of the Year, and two CoSIDA Academic All-District selections.

Joy-Brandon has spent the past two years working at Mockingbird in various capacities. Mockingbird is an elite youth soccer club in Louisville that also runs the premier indoor soccer facility in the area. He'll transition into a full-time role at the club, which will include overseeing the high school age groups on the boy's side, coaching multiple boy's teams, and continuing his technical skills academy. He joins former Golden Eagle assistant coach Darren Yeagle as a full-time staff member and will work alongside nearly a dozen current and former Spalding players at the club.

"Tyler was able to make an immediate impact for the team this fall, and we want to thank him for his hard work and dedication over the past six months," commented head coach Adam Boyer. "It's great to see another assistant coach move on and stay in coaching, especially working in a full-time capacity. We know he'll help elevate MVP as a club and wish him nothing but the best as he transitions into this next phase of his career."

A national search for the next full-time Assistant Men's Soccer Coach will begin this week. Interested applicants can visit the NCAA Market for more information on the position.
