Tyler Joy-Brandon was named the assistant men's soccer coach in July 2023.
A former NCAA Division III All-American at Transylvania University, Joy-Brandon came to Spalding after spending the last few years coaching at both Hanover College and Indiana University - Purdue University Columbus.
As assistant coach at Hanover, Joy-Brandon helped guide the team to a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championship and a spot in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16. While head coach at IUPUC, he brought in the program's inaugural recruiting class, setting the team up for their first season as an NAIA men's soccer program.
As a player at Transy, Joy-Brandon earned All-Region and All-Conference honors in addition to being named a United Soccer Coaches 1st Team All-American. His junior season he was named HCAC Player of the Year as he led the Pioneers to two league Championships and the NCAA Tournament opening round. A former Kentucky high school state champion with Paul Dunbar High School and Kentucky State Cup champion with Lexington FC, Joy-Brandon also spent time playing professional soccer in the United Soccer League - League Two and Premier Development League.
A Lexington, Ky. native, Joy-Brandon coaches youth soccer locally for Mockingbird Valley Premier. He holds his United States Soccer Federation C License and obtained his bachelor's degree in educational studies at Transylvania.
