GREENVILLE, Ill. - Spalding and Greenville did not disappoint as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) game ended 104-100 in favor of the Golden Eagles.
Spalding moved to 1-4 (1-0 SLIAC), while the Panthers fell to 4-4 (0-1 SLIAC).
TURNING POINT
To begin the first half, the Panthers came out on fire. Greenville went on a 17-8 run in the first five minutes. This game kept a consistent pace, as both teams fired back and forth to make it 35-22 in favor of the Panthers.
With 10 minutes remaining in the first half, the Golden Eagles fought back into this match. Field goals made by
Anthony Dillard,
Caden Bradford, and
Andre Crawford helped secure a huge run for SU. In the final seven minutes, Spalding outscored Greenville 22-6. The Golden Eagles led going into the half, 55-46.
The second half was very similar to the opening of this SLIAC matchup. Greenville opened up with a run of its own making it 57-55, in favor of SU. It was a battle for the next 11 minutes, as the game was dead even.
The Golden Eagles finished the game with a 34-23 advantage over the last nine minutes of this contest. Spalding secured their first SLIAC victory of the season, 104-100.
