TURNING POINT
Westminster came out of the gate hot, taking a shot on goal within the first two minutes of the game. Spalding keeper Micah Mattes was able to make a goal line save to keep the score 0-0. Spalding went on the attack, testing the Blue Jays' defense, but were unable to get a ball into the back of the net. The Golden Eagles defense were the stars of the first half, holding strong in the back and only allowing two shots on goal.

Spalding started the second half looking for a goal. That goal arrived at the 56th minute of the match. The Golden Eagles earned a throw-in deep in their offensive half. Chris Mboyo took the long throw, hitting Kevin Mulume, who headed the ball towards the net. There Mustafa Almohammedawi connected with the ball, heading it past the Westminster keeper and into the goal. The Blue Jays scrambled to try and score an equalizer, but the Spalding defense held firm. Neither team was able to add anything else to the scoreboard, ending the match 1-0 and a win for the Spalding University Golden Eagles.
