ST LOUIS, Mo. - The Spalding Men's Track & Field team sits sixth in the 2022-23 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) preseason coaches poll.
The Golden Eagles earned the sixth place position with a score 19 points. Greenville who has won eight out of the nine previous conference championships sits in first with a total of 49 points and seven first-place votes. Principia was second with 42 points and the final first-place vote. Webster finished out the top three with 38 points.
This is the first year the program is under head coach
Stephen Gray. Graduate student
Peter McGowan, a two-time first team all conference winner at the SLIAC Outdoor Championships, and two-time second-team All-SLIAC recipient in cross country, is setting the foundation for the young team. Other notable additions include freshman
Wyatt Frye, a second-team All-SLIAC recipient in cross country in 2022, and freshman
Ryan Clarkson. Coach Gray is looking forward to the season and is very hopeful to what is to come.
